Bryggen (that is on the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage sites) is a place with Hanseatic commercial buildings lining the eastern side of the fjord of Bergen, in Norway.
Throughout history, Bryggen has experienced many fires, since its houses were made from wood.

Palmyra
Palmyra, located in an oasis in the Syrian desert, was in the ancient times an important city of central Syria (vital for travellers crossing the desert along the caravan routes). Today, its magnificent ruins are visited by thousands of tourists.
